Restoring Sexual Function After Spinal Cord Injury

IntimaStim is developing minimally invasive spinal neuromodulation technology to help restore erection and ejaculation in men with paralysis.

Currently preparing early clinical validation work with established neuromodulation systems.

A major quality-of-life problem with limited solutions

Sexual function is one of the most important quality-of-life concerns for men living with spinal cord injury, yet it remains one of the most under-addressed areas of care.

Current options often address only partial function and do not restore coordinated sexual physiology.

#1

Sexual function is a top priority after spinal cord injury - often ranking above walking in patient surveys.

IntimaStim is focused on a problem that is clinically serious, deeply human, and historically overlooked.

Why this matters

Sexual health is connected to intimacy, confidence, identity, relationships, and family formation.

Intimacy is part of health

Spinal cord injury can affect intimacy, identity, relationships, confidence, and the ability to start a family. These issues are often deeply important but rarely addressed directly.

An overlooked clinical need

Much of spinal cord injury research has focused on walking, pain, bowel, and bladder function. Sexual function remains under-translated despite its importance to patients.

A new direction in spinal neuromodulation

IntimaStim is developing a minimally invasive spinal neuromodulation approach intended to help restore erection and ejaculation in men with paralysis.

Our near-term goal is to generate early clinical proof-of-concept before developing a dedicated implant platform.
